Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum made of ivory and marble on the south bank of the Yamuna river near the city of Agra in India. It was constructed in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, to house the tomb of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. You can get to Agra by plain or from Delhi by train (about 2 - 3h) and road (about 4 - 5h), from Jaipur by road (about 5 - 6h) and train (about 4h), and Gwalior by train (about 1h) and road (2 hours). Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.
