The town of Zermatt (elevation: 1,620m) is set below the iconic Matterhorn peak. There are public outdoor rinks for ice-skating and curling. You can take the cable cart to the Matterhorn for a magnificent view of the valley, or take a tour to the Klein Matterhorn which is a great vantage point from where you have beautiful view of Matterhorn. Enjoy the endless ski tracks with spectacular backdrops, 365 days at the Zermatt Ski Paradise. If you like hiking you should visit the Gorner Gorge, dramatic vertical cliffs and gushing river with narrow wooden walkway, or you can visit Riffelsee where you can enjoy a fantastic reflected image of the Matterhorn on the lake.
